SP Group is part of ground-breaking research project RadiSurf at Aarhus University

26 June 2009

Accoat participates by being a subsidiary of SP Group.

The parties involved in the research project is:

  • Aarhus University
  • Grundfos
  • SP-Group

It is SP-Group who has employed researcher Mogens Hinge as part of the science team working on the project.

The goal of RadiSurf

The aim is to develop methods to generate strong chemical bonds between polymer coatings and carious surfaces. This is particularly important for items made of industrial metals such as iron and stainless steel as well as for commodity and engineering plastics.

The science team has already presented the ground-breaking results at an international conference in may 2009.

Industries will gain from the scientific results

Jens Hinke, Director of R & D of SP Group says several industries will gain from the project in the future to come as the scientific results implies more advanced coatings and thereby higher corrosion protection. Industries that especially will benefit are:

  • The chemical industry
  • The energy industry
  • The medical industry
